The fifth release this year that I was involved in will be that of acoustic singer/songwriter folk/pop trio Kleine Terz, who visited me at Slash Zero Studio in March and recorded their first magnum opus "Großes Album". After some trouble with their distribution partners, the album is now available at their Facebook page, or at your favorite streaming service of choice...
Friday April 26th, 2019 - after 32 years, the legendary MASS are 'back to the music' with their 9th album "Still Chained".
Founded in 1973, disbanded in 1987, resurrected in 2016 by founding member Günther V. Radny, they re-recorded 13 songs from back in the day plus 2 brand new compositions by the 'new MASS incarnation'. I had the honor to record parts of this ship, and even got to mix and master it. You can order your copy at their record label "Pride And Joy Music" or head straight to your record store of choice... (or just wait for the vinyl soon to come...)
Friday last week, Johannes Hertrich a.k.a. Unifono - 1 of 4 legendary Hertrich Bros, which also include Fabian Hertrich (Young Fast Running Man) and Gabriel Hertrich (Attune) - released his first album "Modal" (which I mastered recently). If you're into Downbeat/Trip Hop, you should definitely give this one a listen on Spotify (or your streaming service of choice) and support him at Bandcamp!
Let's produce some good sounding music this year - happy DRD19!
The magnificent TG Copperfield releases his 5th solo offering "Magnolia" (which we produced last August in collaboration with legendary engineer Hias Roithmeier) today, and because more is more, he also releases "Common Buzzard Blues" (also produced last year @ Slash Zero Studio) together with his band 3 Dayz Whizkey.
Again it's "Endorsernstag" (which is kind of a wordplay on "endorsers' Thursday") and this time the folks at Musik Wein present Michael "Air" Hofmann (which I have the honor of being a brother of) who endorses their Istanbul Mehmet Cymbals. Check their page and Instagram feed for awesome instruments!
On Friday Nov 9th, the Thrash Metal chapel GumoManiacs released "Priest Of Lucifer X" - a 10th anniversary remake of their classic debut album (which I had the honor to produce and play bass on and Air did the drumming) - via Slash Zero Records. You should definitely check that one out if you already liked the original (or if you haven't heard the original at all), as this is what the album should have sounded like in the first place (but we haven't had the money and technical/musical knowledge back then)...
Today the legendary Young Fast Running Man releases his 2nd album "Young Bird" (which I had the honor to produce, and together with my bro Air contributed lots of instruments on that one) via Slash Zero Records - you should definitely check it out on Spotify or Bandcamp or even visit the release party tomorrow at Import/Export Munich!
And because that's not enough, another record's coming out this day: Old School Punks Grape celebrate their new EP "Justylied" (which I also produced) today at Rocket Club Landshut. It's released via 30 Kilo Fieber Records and True Trash - you can order it here or listen on Spotify!
On Friday Sep 21st, my good friend Andy Kneitinger (under the moniker of "Illegal I") released his debut album "Illegal Eye" (which I had the honor to produce and play bass on) via Slash Zero Records.
Two more releases scheduled for August 2018 - this year seems to be a productive one...
1. Because all of their recent 3 albums completely sold out, my bros from "Ohrange" released a greatest hits album entitled "Perlen" last Friday. So if you missed their last albums "ohrange Album", "[er]leben", and "Wie Ein Mobile" (which I produced and played loads of instruments on and Air played some drums here and there, too), this compilation is for you!
2. In my last post I raved about the Hertrich Bros and their cool project "Attune", and last Friday August 3, 2018, they released their self-titled album "Attune" (which I mastered recently). It is now available digitally and on Spotify, but they do think about going vinyl for this one soon, so watch out if you like dark, moody, dreamy vibes with roots in downtempo, trip-hop, and nu-jazz while maintaining memorable harmonies and melodies.
Some of you might know the Hertrich Bros under the moniker of Young Fast Running Man - what some of you might not know is that they have even more brothers. Two of them have this neat ambient/triphop project called "Attune" and today they released a music video for "Nylon" as a teaser for their upcoming album (which I mastered recently...) - check it out!
