Happy New Year!!!

1986 - the year I was born, and the year my uncle Robert Porcodio was about my age. He used to play headless-bass (and wear this awesome orange jacket) in this legendary 80s power-ballad-band called Isolation back then. Their legendary debut concept album "Argonaut Journey" sold platinum in Nicaragua and French Overseas Territories. The memorable melange of power ballads, guitar solos, and my uncle's signature hip moves were known to everybody in the key demographic group of 17-49 year olds (in the Bulgarian red army). They also contributed the theme song for Walter Mondale's 1984 presidential campaign. After their song "Love Is Not Real" was not featured in the soundtrack for the movie "Top Gun", the record company stopped the distribution of the legendary album "Isolation VII", which has become a bootlegged underground phenomenon ever since. Isolation was history, and history was forgotten.
Finally Capitolism Records (those guys suck!) re-released "How Does It Feel" from Isolation's 7th album to raise some money... well, at least they did something!
TG Copperfield's known for his incredible guitar work and releasing several albums per year - "Talkin' Shop" being his 7th solo effort, and his 4th album in 2019... more neat facts: we've been working on that album start to finish for exactly ONE WEEK in August...
Now can you outgun that?!
Among many things there are at least two that all Hertrich Bros have in common:
a) they all (obviously) have the same parents and
b) they all have the gift to create fabulous music (as you can see if you scroll down this blog)
This post shall be about Johannes & Gabriel again (a.k.a. Unifono / Attune) and their new (dare I say) Electronic Industrial Pop Rock 7-piece all-star band All Blank, who now released their debut album "A Thousand Views", which I was given the honor to master recently...
Definitely check it out on Spotify and help them reach 500k streams - for they'll then consider to release this piece of art on vinyl...
Yo, check out my homie TG's latest video to "Suckers & Crooks" (filmed by Schtifilms) and make sure you'll catch Air's SICK drum break at around 1:10min. Damn, I never knew that one can be obsessed with a single HiHat sound...
The song will be on his upcoming (7th) album "Talkin' Shop" (produced @ SlashZeroStudio).
I produced, recorded, mixed, mastered, played bass, guitar, rhodes, sitar, hurt my fingers, sang, and made strange sounds, and I had fun doing it.
Air played cajon, bongos, some things that made rattling sounds, melodica, synth, sang and layouted Phil's artwork, who also guitared, drank, and sang on this record. Ah yeah, he also played a banana... (have you seen the 'making of' video?)
You should definitely turn on and tune in, because the trilogy is now complete!
This time my path of work has led me to master an EP by the talented Cocon... The song is called "Wien West" and is featured in its original version, but also contains remixes by Unifono (for whom I recently mastered his "Modal" EP) and Loewe (a.k.a. Jakobin).
Slash Zero Records have the honor to release the latest MASS album "Still Chained" (which contains 13 re-recordings their classics from 1973 - 1987 plus 2 new songs) on vinyl! As I wrote earlier this year, I recorded parts of this ship, and even got to mix and master it.
You can order your copy at their new Bandcamp Store - but be warned: a band that already sold 200k units before will easily sell out the strictly limited run of 500 double-LPs on 180g red translucent vinyl (with etching on side D) in a nice gatefold pretty fast...
